The Clarkston, MI scholastic cycling team, part of the Michigan Scholastic Cycling Association, has been granted permission to construct a MTB trail on an unused piece of school property that encompasses 80 acres. The project was conceived and planned by one of the students who then put it before the school board for approval. Plans are to have the trail constructed in time for the fall season possibly even this school year.
The Clarkston trail will be the third trail constructed by a MiSCA team on school property, the others by Detroit Country Day and the eight mile trail at Lake Orion High School. Hopefully interscholastic cycling in Michigan will one day have scholastic MTB races where teams have a true "home field" advantage.
