Re: Taconic-Hereford 909 Trail Maps
What trail would you recommend to a novice at 909 ??

All the trails are doable for novices, there is no freeride stuff or anything way over your head at the 909. It's full of short but steepish rolling hills, be prepared for lots of granny gear climbing good for building strong legs and lungs, after all that's what xc is all about. If you want to try some of the more technical stuff try fongs way or anything down in the gut on the east end, the more you ride them the more you improve. If something looks a little too difficult or steep (up or down), just walk it. And even seasoned riders dab their foot or get off sometimes, so don't get discouraged.
