Save Funding For NY State Trails
From our friends at PTNY:
We're receiving alarming news that NYS may end the Recreational Trails Program
Please do two things to preserve the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) that has funded nearly 300 trails projects in NYS over the last two decades:
1. Urge the Governor to preserve RTP. Just fill in your information here and we will send a postcard to the Governor with this message: "Please preserve the Recreational Trails Program because trails are important to New York's quality of life, health, and economy."
2. Share this message with as many organizations and people you know who care about and use NYS trails...through email, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Time is short. The Governor must decide by September 1 so we need to hear from you by August 27.
This is new information that we learned yesterday after we joined with Tri-State Transportation Campaign, New York Bicycling Coalition, and 87 other NYS nonprofits and local governments to send a letter to Governor Cuomo asking him to direct New York's new Transportation Alternatives and prior Transportation Enhancements Program funds to trails and active transportation.
Visit our website for more on RTP and how preserving it is good for New York.
