You do not have to tell me How much time goes into these. Climbs first festival was called "Spartyfest". This is no lie or Joke

Second year I changes the name to Fat tire festival (because I was impressed with the festival at the chequamegon in Wisconsin that I had attended.

I broke my butt arranging, orgenizing and soliciting shops and sponsors. I had hiking clubs involved as well as having a former aquaintance contact sbra.....but The thing is I had made contact with sponsors too late in the season as they already committed to other venues. I was told by them to put my requests in earlier for the next season.
I had already accuired commitments for the following year.

I backed out because of the head static and now let others carry the tourch

as it is fine by me

There was a post on the climb forum thanking me for comming up with the idea, but it mysteriously got deleted!

I am guessing that from your post you enjoyed it. I am happy to you did!!!!

BTW the second festival I had brought this insane BBQ for the cooks to use.....man it was funny as hell and I fwlt bad for the guys cooking.............They almost got 3rd degree burns it was so hot......ask Sav he remembers!

I called today actually. Gave them the link to this page in my email that I also sent. They said they would look into the matter.

With the high incidence of drinking related deaths on the island you would think people would be smarter than this.

Funny thing is. When I arranged the first of the festivals I actually had a sponsor from a local brewery. I was told that alcohol was not permitted. So I Kaboshed the idea.

I am appauled by the amount of empty beer and booze bottles I see and I am guessing this is why booze in not permitted on county property (along with the un acceptable behavior of people who are bombed. )

I am Guessing from the pics I am seeing posted everywhere that climb has recieved permission from the parks department (or found away around the rules .)
