    White Sands

    going to be in white sands the end of the week for work. I wont be able to ride but i plan to bring my camera gear. anyone know any place easy access to the dunes for photography?

    I live in Alamogordo (closest town to white sands) and if you want some really epic shots make sure you get a good ways off the beaten path.

    cool, not sure how far off the beaten path i want to get for sunset, going to try and keep from getting too lost the only night I'm there!

    I like how White Sands looks in GoogleEarth.

    Taking the Loop drive inside the Monument will get you pretty far into the dunes.

    Yeah, just keep driving until the people start thinning out then walk out over the first dune and you should get some untouched sand. My wife has taken some good shots out there I will see if I can find some.

    If only I hadn't decided to get all the gear out fo the car, I would have had the most bad ass picture at white sands. missed my oportunity by seconds. That day the sand was crusty, so one could "walk" on it.
