Here here! If we lost the foothills I'd consider moving...

But, I have to say, I've met some really rude hikers. I've also seen many runners with headphones that can't hear you behind them and freak out when they finally see you. Cyclists are not the only ones that should should be aware of the impact of their attitudes.

Sound advice - control what you can control.

If conflict occurs walkers and Horses tend to win - right or wrong.

Follow the Golden Rule - even if those you encounter don't.

I too was in SFH yesterday for the first time in months. Many people, many loose dogs, and owners arguing about who's dog tried to hump who's. It was anarchy. So I headed up to the "A" line to get away from the sanitized trails and all the looney hikers/bikers and horny dogs. Sucks to have nice weather. I like it better when it's too hot or too cold so most people stay home and keep their craziness at bay.

Have to say, 99% of my encounters with users in the foothills are positive, which in stark contrast to some other LESS populated areas I've ridden. Golden Rule is always a good idea... But rules are the problem. People don't like to follow them. I've see each type of trail user do things not prescribed, seems there's a few in each group that rules just don't apply to. That's the problem, a few bad apples.
