Took a couple freinds up the Winsor (and back down) yesterday. Can't say we took beer on the ride, but we certainly had some cold ones waiting for us in the car at the end. That trail rocks and there was pretty much nobody on it. We passed maybe three or four riders and that was it. I decided to take my wifes 29er hardtail on this ride, which was certainly nice climbing up, but I wished I was on my Intense coming back down.

Thursdays huh? My schedule at home recently changed and I need to ride on Thursdays now. Been getting bored of riding alone lately. Would be nice to hit it with others. Isn't it pretty damn hot at that time of the day?

Hopefully the monsoons will help with the heat thing. A shower up here this afternoon cooled it down pretty nice. Your welcome to join us any time. Just be ready to hit that sh!t.

Start your Bando training by carrying a 6-pack of Tecate in your camel pak on every ride.

One thing about riding with Bandos, they are always open to ride with new people. But if you break your arm or bike, they will pilfer your beer before you walk out.

That's the day we discovered the shelf line in the rock wall at Red Mesa. Good day of riding, for sure!

Bandos are super thoughful and just want to help "lighten your load" for your trek back to the trailhead.

I spy some SoMo Waterfall action, but nothing in Las Cruces. Does the Bandoleros' natural habitat not extend south of I-40?

As a follow up: Once you get sucked into the bando lifestyle, nothing else will suffice. I once thought 1.9 tires, v-brakes and 3 inches of travel was enough. Now I've got a 2.5 DH tire on a 160 fork with an 8 inch rotor on a "cross country" bike. Spinning thru flowy singletrack is good only as a means to get to or from the log rides or rock walls. Bike parks begin to become an addiction. And then there's the beer. My god, the beer...

Bottom line: don't move out of town. You'll never find another group like the bandos.

Here's a Bandolero in Angel Fire, dropping 2000 ft. to his cooler of beer at the bottom.

Bandos are always willing to take n00bs out for a "short easy ride."

Medio Dia...or...MTBNate survives the 'flatlander death ride'
