Not NM but I go up to Durango Resort usually this time of year and hit the Purgatory trail up toward Silverton. Lots of aspen and fall colors there right now.

I'm pretty keen on riding Aspen Vista/Raven's Ridge/Rio en Medio this weekend for some top quality leaf looking and dirt shredding.

Wanted to make it up to the Sangre de Cristo's yesterday, but got derailed.

Will next weekend be too late?

    Week

Maybe, maybe not, depending on the weather. This was from yesterday. If we get some high winds the trees will be stripped in no time.

    SBT near peak

The Tuff Riders of Los Alamos rode the South Boundary trail Sunday 9/30.

The aspens must be near their peak of yellowness. Spectacular!

Great pics. Would Rio en Medio be a trail to ride for Aspen scenery? I will staying in that area for few days next week.

The most leafage will be on Aspen Vista (surprise!), which is just a two track. But yes, Rio en Medio will have a fair amount of aspen viewing opportunity.
