Yay! flextime! I hit Otero today at 2 p.m. for the first time since August.

I love night riding but I'm with notaknob, if I can, I squeeze in a ride during the middle of the day. Of course we both work for the big green machine....

You lucky USFS bastids. It's night rides for me on weekdays. I do have two arc-HID Light and Motion lights, but one of my battery packs died.
I would like to find a suitable replacement battery and ideas/suggestions appreciated!

Thought I saw your truck there on my way home. Bet it felt good to get back out again. I'm going to ride today around 1-2. Can you sneek out again? That is if you dont hurt to much from yesterdays ride.

In the dark or during the day, Otero is in great shape. Just got back from a three hour ride and the trails are in perfect condition. The new trail is packing in well and getting faster....gotta trim a few more trees though.

Nate, you may know this already and wish to stick with L&M, but you can get a complete light/batt/mount system with an equivalent amount of output now for less than you'll pay for that replacement battery. Just do an ebay search for XML T6 4400mah, or check the last couple pages on the super-long thread on the lighting board here on MTBR.

Is parking at the trail heads legal at night? If i remember right the trail heads close about 6ish (don't want my truck locked in) and there are no parking signs near the trail heads? I really don't feel like pissing off people by parking in front of their houses.

I believe Michial M. Emery (Bear Canyon) Trailhead closes at 9 PM..? Might be 7PM during the winter months??????
