This route has been an endurance race location in the past. We will explore with the local expert on the area, Steve Newhall.
Weather is looking good, partly-cloudy, mostly sunny. Highs in the lower to mid 60s
Meet at the entrance to the SF Municipal Recreation Center off of 599, at
205 caja del rio rd at 9:45 to caravan to trailhead on FR 24.
Ride leaves TH at approx. 10 am.

Twenty plus miles or so of riding. Moderate pace with options for turtles and hares. Bring water, lunch, camera and jacket. Out on the Caja you could see wild horse and burro herds, cool geography, petroglyphs, the Rio Grande, and miles of side-by-side singletrack (old double-track). Read the history here:
