    Santa Fe Conditions?

Could anyone give me the prospects for riding Dale Ball or La Tierra this weekend? I am coming down from CO this weekend, wondering if I should bring the mountain bike. Thanks in advance.

No way on either Dale Ball or La Tierra. Both are mud and snow and because of the soil around here, will gum up your drivetrain and bust off a derailleur...

    ...ask me how I know

Thanks guys. I also received this from the SF Fat Tire folks:

"Dale Ball has some snowpack and mud areas that are fine when frozen. LTT doesn't have much/any snowpack but there may be mud after it warms up. If you don't mind riding so that you're done by 10:30-11am you should be OK. Forecast lows mid 20's, high +/- 50. The Galisteo Preserve trails should be OK any time of day, but are a 25 minute drive from town. Let me know if you need more info."

Rode la tierra today, not bad at all. Minimal mud unless you drop into the shaded arroyos, etc, which i avoided. Galisteo was fine as of last sunday. Not sure about dale ball.

Did a night ride there tonight. All pretty good, including the east side. The northwest flat areas are pretty soft. Things should all be great by Friday.

It was dry and nice where i started. But the mud just got worse and worse. Some snow and ice packs too hidden in there.

Oh boy, looks like me last spring. Once you get away from the south facing trails, things get reallllly muddy. Busted my buddies rear derailleur off and I had to tow him back to the house.

    Which section were you rolling?
