5 or 6 years ago we had a winter where we were able to ride the east mtns over the entire winter. The forest was closed late that spring. Let it snow please and soon!

I'm hoping it hits soon.

Should not have been a problem. At the bottom of that wash there is a rock perfectly placed in the middle of the trail (as long as nobody moves it...) I think you caught that rock with the wrong part of your tire and went down. Happened to me in the Sandias. I flew headfirst into a stump and nearly knocked myself out. Busted my glasses, dented my helmet, and put an incurable wobble in the front wheel.

Yeah, looked like the "rock" took him out. Maybe the rock bandits missed that one.
Skerry's Rule: if the rock is loose, take it out. Looks like that one is still very solid, in spite of the dry weather. Been there many years and probably surprised a lot of folk.

I've been thru that section many many times and never had any concerns.
Just got jacked up this time.
Oh well, $hit happens - it's all part of the game.
