    POC Trabec?

I've been seeing some of these on our trails- can someone weigh-in on their venting riding our high desert trails in summer? How's the fit? thinking about the 50% off sale at backcountry.com. Thx!

I have The Race XL/XXL. I also have a big head, so I kinda took a $200 chance online because I couldn't find any in town. It fits, although my wife says it looks huge.
As for venting, not too sure yet. Mine's black and I'm sure in July it's going to be toasty.
But overall, I like it. I tend to go down a bit, so the extra protection without having a full-face is nice.

I recently made the change to a trabec. I am in cooler conditions than you, but overall it is cooler and lighter than my other helmets.

Not sure about BackCountry, but depending on what color you are looking for, Competitive Cycle has them on sale with a great return policy.

I have had one for about 6 months now. Have not experienced any extreme temperatures yet, but the helmets has been great so far.

The venting on it seems great. Ive had mine about as long. The paint finish doesnt seem to hold up as well and some of the cleared helmets. I think you are seeing more of them because they ran on Chainlove for $70 for a few months.

I love the fit of mine. It's the first bike helmet I've had that feels like I'm actually wearing it as opposed to it sitting on my head.

Hmm, never felt the need to match my clothing to my helmet.
But hey, I'm sure you look stunning.

I've heard good things about the POC helmets, but the one that i would most consider getting is the MIPs helmet like fondoo posted. Unfortunately it's considerably more expensive than the standard Trabec. Worth reading up on how the MIPS works though, it could be a life-saver.

I got a new Trabec Race a few weeks ago after crashing into a low-hanging tree limb which knocked me out and put a solid crack straight through my Giro Xen. Decided to pony up the additional dollars for the supposed extra protection that the POC gives. It fits great. A little bigger than I'm used to, but very comfortable.
