This area is accessed from the El Morro Ranches subdivision. Very nice up there! Its all old logging roads, but very lightly traveled and surprisingly challenging riding. This was my first time exploring there. I was in there for 3 hours and saw not a sign of another person in there probably since the end of hunting season. Nice rock gardens, some good climbing - all around 7500 to almost 9000ft. The larger loop I plan to ride next time takes you up along the continental divide.

That pic was the lushest canyon I found - most of the rest was pretty dry, though good tree cover. Dig my old school rigid ride!

The old school rigid is awesome. I rode a bike like that on trails when visiting the South. It was really cool & brought back some fond memories of my first years of riding.

Just a reminder how beautiful a late evening ride in the ABQ Foothills can be during monsoon season..

Here's a recent one from smack dab in the middle of Los Alamos believe it or not. It's called The Pueblo Canyon Rim Trail, a.k.a. Bass Ale Trail (correct me if I'm wrong Joe).
