    Pajarito

Some shots from Saturday up at Pajarito. Dirt was perfect and the amount of flowers, grass and other growth from all this rain made me feel like I moved back to Oregon.

Please scale those photos way, way, way down... I cant even fit them on my dual 21" monitors to enjoy them.

Your browser doesn't automatically do this?

They look great on my 17" laptop screen, I find most are too small. I find some images I post are chopped smaller even though they are sized perfectly for web sRGB display. Made me wonder if most posters are just dumping straight out of the camera so everything gets chopped whether re-sized or not. Is there an image size and format that will be left unchopped?

Try using the "fixed" style. They look good to me!

Hmm, strange. Once loaded, the code listed here on the forum indicates it queries the object to be resized dynamically to 540px across. Granted, it's kinda a ghetto piece of div code.

Anyways, any modern browser should handle that fine. The shots need some detail.

If you view in wide mode, the image is set to whatever the image hosting site uploads to. I usually just use this site's file loader and load straight from my PC. It's odd, it's sort of buggy in that it will sometimes resize my larger files for me, but other times it forces me to resize them myself. I generally keep them under 1 meg. One of the drawbacks is that you have to actually click on the image to navigate to the full resolution picture if viewing in fixed mode.

    Trail 18 Taos

Rode this trail for the first time yesterday. It's a pretty fun and easy ride with lots of smooth flowy sections and a few mildly technical rocky sections with a nice bike path worn into the surface. Lots of potential for berms and jumps to develop if it is ridden more.

Just as we got thru the gate and began climbing I nearly rode over this baby hummingbird; we got it off the trail and as close to it's nest as we could without disturbing it too much (I hope).

The access to Trail 18 is from 518 and climbs a short and steep rocky wash for a couple hundred meters, then this cairn marks the trail which is the old Rio Grande del Rancho road. We rode N-S and then back on that route rather than ride the highway down to the trailhead. Much faster and more downhill coming back. I think the trail continues to the north and connects with the Talpa Traverse from the cairn.

    Cumbres Pass

Technically it's Colorado but so close to Chama I could smell Chiles roasting... What a sweet place to ride!

I think this is officially in New Mexico, but I'm not a 100% sure.

Don't let the beginning of this ride fool you.

So, here I am in the middle of nowhere and along come a couple of bikers. We hung together for a while, and I gave them directions to the West Fork trail.

I decided to split off and bushwack over to the falls. I actually managed to ride a good portion of it thanks to some game trails.

This one was quite a bit smaller than the last one. I hope it makes it through the winter. They have such great presence about them.
