Looking for best trail within 4-5 hours. Moab, CO.... Where to go?

Looking for a great place to ride for a weekend trip next month. Never been to moab or any where
    in colorado.

Thinking of monarch crest in colorado. Looks to be 5-6 hrs away.

30+ miles of lots of downhill after your shuttled.

    Any other ideas?

Trying to motivate some friends to bike more and train for something bigger.

    Leaving from albuquerque.

    Thanks!

MC sits 11k+ in elev, won't be open til late June-early July I should think. Think Phil's World & Sand Canyon in Cortez + Horse Gulch, Telegraph, Twin Buttes in DGO if the weather plays nice.

I second Sand Canyon. Cool trail. Lots of Cliff Dwellings along the trail. Phil's World is fun but pretty straight forward XC. These are about 3 hours from Moab. I've heard over near Deloris there are some more technical trails. But I haven't had the chance to check it out.

Thanks for replies guys. Ya, I'll look into those. Think I'm gonna do monarch late summer. But maybe another one of those too.

Ya, I'm going to do MC in July. Just planning the trip. I assume it will be all open then. Thanks
