    It's huntin' season

Just sending out a reminder that hunting season has started in the national forests. Right now it's bow season, but black powder starts in a week or two and rifle starts up around Oct 15. It continues into Dec, although it depend on the hunt area. Generally, starts on Sat and ends on Wed evening. No hunting on Thurs/Fri. You can check on dates, etc., here: NM hunting PDF

I happened to go out to Cochiti (graduation flats) last year on the first day of rifle season. There were RVs everywhere and hunters hiking up and down Medio Dia. Was a nervous ride for me that day. So, keep that in mind if you're heading out to the forests in the next few weeks.
