After a month out of the XC saddle due to a minor operation and Ben's broken collar bone myself, my son Ben, Chris, and Matt hit up Guaje Canyon via: Pajarito ski hill - Canada Bonita - Guaje Point - Guaje Canyon - Old Reservoir- Guaje Road - Cabra (all Los Alamos area). It was a picture perfect day so I took ton's of pictures. They are all in chronological order for anyone considering doing this ride.
Quick Ride Report: The Guaje Canyon portion of this ride which I've never been on started right after Guaje Point. It begins with a bunch of killer switch backs that were a blast to ride. It then turns into nice single track down to the reservoir. Even though the trees had been cleared fairly recently there were several new ones but they didn't slow us down much. After the reservoir we continued down the canyon on an old rode that has a lot of stream crossings and places that are washed out. When we V'd into Guaje road we opted to climb up to Cabra for a final descent into Rendija canyon. The climb wasn't long but we had to push up a lot of the first half because the boulders were really loose.
