Bryan's pic is NOT shopped - I have the video. I kept yelling "remember that you have a family!". AND the log was much higher than the photo indicates.
Thanks for posting the pic of me about to sh!t my britches, Bryan. At least I know how to tuck & roll!

The CanDiggle is going to be a project that will probably be finished in the middle of ski season. I just don't think I'll be able to round up the exact parts I want for my preferences or make up my mind on some parts soon enough to ride it this year. But when the "Bando Whip" is ready, I'm gonna make some Turner boyz beg for mercy!

Hats off to you TJ for doing Rio Medio the day after we did that hard a$$ Cochiti loop. You were tricked, it was upper thirty miles and over 5 grand climbing in soft soil.

The Bandos train stuck it to me for sure this weekend. I definitely got my payback for last years Glorietta shuttle. Nice reference to the tounge, Bry.
I gotta second Ramon's statement - that log ride pic of Bryan is the shizzle.
Crash, I hope your ready for 4 consecutive days of sweet riding starting next Friday. We're gonna be living well, amigo.
I love how you can see the fear in Paul's eyes as his bike is barrelling down on him!

    Area provided great riding.

I was up there earlier this year and Dixions is a real mess. Gates were both closed with so we did not venture to far in. From what I heard there are some sections that were not destroyed in the fire. Have not been up to confirm seeing what is there if any.

From my understanding is that Bland and Abermale were both taken in the fire. Pines is supposedly still standing. I could be 100% wrong on this, but would hope that something survived up there.

I was just up on the mesa last night at a friend's house. Yeah, I'm sad for them and their loss of a tight-knit community of friends, and for the trails, too. It's a darn shame. We drove past upper Medio Dia on the way in and,... well, there's not much to say. Thanks for the thread resurrection, SC, and nice pics Bryan!

    Encouraging

This looks pretty encouraging. I figured the Las Conchas fire had wiped out all the trails near Cochiti Mesa.

Would you be willing to tell us which trails are in decent shape? Thanks!

    Memories

Myself, and I think Rod and Scott B. rode the Medio Dia/Cochiti/Switch Backs loop on Father's day exactly one week before the F'ing fire of 2011. I just went searching for pictures but I guess I didn't take any that day. I remember thinking how dry it was and that restrictions were about to go into place with motor restrictions already there. I hope it will come back someday but I don't think it will be anytime soon.

According to my buddy Jeff who works with the Geological Survey, the bland canyon side is still in tact. It would be the road opposite of the turn heading up towards Medio Dia that Joe was talking about upthread.
