Camping near Angel Fire?
Hey Everyone! I was planning on headed up to AF the 25-28th. Anyone know of good camp spots up there for just two people?
Thanks!

Bando road. well thats what we call it. Its right before you start the last steep climb, and then down the road into Angel fire. free camping. Maybe 10- 15 minutes from the lift. Car friendly, no cell service.

If you're coming from Taos on U.S. 64, at Mile Marker 272, or just before it, right where the highway makes a switchback and heads up the side of the mountain, there is a cattle guard and a dirt road that heads north. If you get to the top of Palo Flechado Pass you went to far and need to turn around. The cattle guard/Forest Service road goes back a couple of miles and offers up simple but scenic and usually private car camping not far from Angel Fire. Don't leave any garbage, and maybe pick up a bit of someone else's, and this spot should provide off the grid and unregulated car camping for years to come. No water and definitely no cell service...my guess is it's the same locale utilized by The Owl when the Bando crew hits El Norte.
