    Any Interest in GITA 2014?

    What say the NM board?

    Can we do it?

This was my first one, and it was a blast!

Gaspin' in the Aspen - MTBR Gathering in Northern NM - October 13-15

I'm not sure if anyone has the organizational skills of a ssportsman, but I'm sure we limp it along if we put our minds to it.

I would be down for some northern New Mexico aspen riding depending on when.

I will be up in AF over the 4th of July.

Down? What about up? There's plenty of it too!

I'm thinking closer to the Aspen molting. October - November, probably. Keep in touch!

When are you doing this? I was at GITA ver 2.0 (I think) and had a blast. I am interested depending on when you do it.

    >>>FWD>>> from the Front Range:

The Rio Chama ride is more scenic than technical, although there are some technical bits thrown in. I'm thinking something along the lines of Rio Chama (Archuleta Drainage) on the first day, since it's a bit of a grind. CDT above Cumbres Pass day two, and then day three we could take a poll between RR/REM, or South Boundary. Both are in pretty close proximity to Chama and require a lengthy shuttle.

Fall is most definitely what I'd want to shoot for - late September/early October.

    Wanted!!!

Strong local riders to help lead, and plan logistics. Need good sense of direction, and willingness to identify with verbal and/or written route coordination.

Experience with various local terrains and mapping preferred, but not mandatory!

Last week in Sept sounds cool. Aspens turning by then?

For some reason, in the "Wanted!!!" post, I automatically replaced "verbal and/or written route coordination" with "verbal and/or written abuse".... Sorry! ;D I'll be trying to ride lots before then, but don't think I'm a man for that job yet....

I'm not sure, Jerry, but I'd rather not miss them altogether. All the good photos I have are in late September. October is hit or miss, IME.

I'm good for at least two of the rides, for sure. I just don't know that my knees can handle 3 full days in the saddle. In fact, I'd much rather play sweeper on the others. Happy to help coordinate and facilitate, but leading the pack ain't necessarily my cup of tea either.

I rode up to Deception Peak Friday for a Raven's and REM run and SBT Sunday, I'm guessing the peak colors are gone this coming weekend.
