    10K-Tree Spring-Oso-Faulty-Canyoncito ride.

Original plan was to take some Austin peeps out to East Fork. Change-o-plan to ride trails closer to their base camp. Hmm...I think that's the route that we roughly ended up following. First time to ride any of those trails and I'd have to say those would rank right up there with some of the best trails that I've riddin in NM. Trails were so good I rarely stopped to take a photo. Tracked in at 17.3 miles of sweetness.

Hard to ignore that view at the top.

Luis rides this hardtail Fuji with a 50mm elastomer front fork. Didn't slow him down much, though.

    Erik early in the ride.

Bryan looking like he's just eaten a dog turd.

Great photo of Luis...just makes me want to go ride my bike when I see it.

Tyler just before threading the rocks.

Erik decides the trail around the rocks is better instead.

Pat trying to get up those steps on Faulty. I think it was Faulty. He didn't make it.

Luis making a run at it without having seen it first. He bailed once the whole thing came into view. Of course, I didn't even bother trying to ride them myself--using the 'I'm going to take photos' excuse.'

Bryan made it his first try. Well...maybe not the first. Nor the second....nor the...etc.

Bryan making it off the 'RCC biffinator'.

Pat doing the log ride across a small stream on Canyoncito.

Luis at the end of the ride.

    Pat following suit...

Great friggin' ride. Wish it weren't a 2 hour drive one way for me...but better than a 3 hour drive.

Not a nose dive per se, but a front wheel landing, nonetheless.

Front fork made a loud 'pop' when it bottomed hard on that landing. You can see it fully compressed here just as he lands

I knew he did not go OTB like RCC but it seemed from the pic that the nose dive was worse than it actually was. I hope to hit that spot today but still building back up the Nomad this morn.

What the hel! did I tell you about doin' that shite the in the AM before a ride. Oh....well

Anyway back on topic. Glad you enjoyed yourself Von. It was tough waiting for the Texans. They were a little out of their element... 10600 ft, wet, and rocky. I talked to them last night and they left a few days early

Thanks for being patient and we will probably see you at GITA. Here are the few pics that I got from Thursday..

This kid rocked on the HT. He is the epitome of passion and reminded me of my first years in MTB'ing. Good job Luis. We'll see you soon!

    I got the same shot.

Our new friend Pat...BTW we are headed up there again if you want to join us.

RM on a couple of tricky rock gardens

    and Pat

    Luis

RM got a taste of Sandia steepness

Hey, I took the boys from Texas out to White Mesa yesterday. They had a blast. Pretty worn out by the time they climbed out of there. They headed out last night around 8. Wish I could Met you guys on the Sandia ride. Some other day.

    Sequel...

Here are some memorable moments from todays ride. Basically same as Thursday, but locals only

    Bruce through a rock garden

    Ramon close behind

    Rick & Tom ( Crux's neighbor )

    Anna ( the GF )

No Anna's were harmed in the filming of this image

    ....and, drum roll please,....Crux.

After that we all sat around and discussed the hypnotic attraction of a certain someone's RFX. ( with the new fork of course )

    Bruce cleans a tough climb

    ...and Tom

...but not this fella, not today

We spent a fair amount of time sessioning the the stair step, but the only one to clean it on this day was RCC ( on his second attempt )

Tom, Ricky, and I gave up after many (many) failed attempts

    Close but no cigar..

    Don't go that way

    Its fun going down

    Try again...

Dirt roadie! Them's fightin' words. I'll have you know I ride a 35lb+ clown bike, don't shave my legs, or own one piece of lycra.

Shoot me a message if you find yourself riding out this way.

Sheesh, I wish it weren't a two hour drive for me.

What was the hiker situation like today? 300+ bluehairs wheezing down the trail?

Andy, thanks for hanging with Anna and making sure she made it through safely!

Hope to run into you guys out on the trail again soon.
