    1 Son(ny)?? Day

Officially, the (sun) never peered beyond the clouds. However, my (son) was shining in such a way that it brought tears to my eyes.

It has been a while since he and I hit the trails. You know, just him and me. Lately the riding (with him) has been limited to extended jaunts with the trailer and 1 y/o in tow to the playground and such. Today was different. Mom and the young one had 'lazy plans' this Sunday, so he and I made a b-line for the NFH's!

He was certainly excited! We ventured from Elena picnic are all the way to Pinon TH. This is the highest he's gone on this particular trail. I am a very proud Dad today!

I think he finally has found a bit of Passion. Before, it was more about spending time with me and he always stayed close by, insisting that I not get too far ahead or behind. I was surprised today to find him taking his time and enjoying the landscape. I noticed that he was more confident and more comfortable with riding the trail. He would race ahead, and once I didn not see him for a good while. He was seeing things, you know?

It's great to see him riding the trails. My daughter just made her first trip around the block today on her bike. Still got training wheels on...at least one more year before I even think about taking 'em off.

I swear it looks like that bike has 36" wheels.

Sweet! You are lucky to have a riding buddy like that. I remember teaching my little brothers to ride bmx when they were that age, lotsa' fun.
