Round Valley TM May 10th 9am
Please join us for trail maintenance at Round Valley on Saturday May 10th. We at JORBA are trying to become more involved at RV. The 1st thing is to repair the washed out switchback trail that's about 2 miles out from the main lot. Those who ride there often will know the spot. With a good showing of volunteers & some quality trail work, it could go a long way in building a strong relationship with the Park Supervisor. The TM will be rain or shine (barring a torrential downpour), please dress accordingly. We would recommend that each person wears comfortable shoes/boots, brings work gloves and something to drink. All tools will be supplied.
Date: Saturday May 10th
Time: 9:00 a.m. until finished
Meeting location: Main entrance, first parking lot past the ranger station on the right (a right turn & then another right into the lot after ranger station)
Instructions: All volunteers need to sign in at the ranger station
Questions: somerset @ jorba.org
Thanks & hope to see you there.
Round Valley Thanks
We had a great day for the 1st official trail day at RV in a while. We were able to complete the repair of a badly eroded switchback on the Cushetunk trail in 1 session. 1st we built a berm on the upper part of the trail to keep the water off the lower part. Then on the trail itself we filled the 2' deep rut with large rocks & dirt. We then built a riding berm on the high side to add a little fun factor. Lastly we narrowed down the trail for that single track feel. A very rewarding day.
I'd like to thank the following volunteers for their VERY HARD WORK, dealing with the bugs & finishing the Munchkins.
Joseph Zurawski (AKA Norm Z.)
Ps. Almost forgot, we also trimmed back the corridor from top to bottom of the switchback trail.
Great job, JORBA on forging this relationship with Round Valley!!! Is that MTBNJ.com Team Manager, Norm Zurawski I see in those shots? Get your Pay Dirt everyone.
wow looks like alot of fun I never thought that round valley would have trails like these. Do you know if they charge you to get into to ride?
