Riding today - Lewis Morris or Chimney Rock

Hey all - I'm heading out today at either LM or CR - if anyone is headed out to either spot - post up. I'm thinking about riding around 5:45 or 6:00... I'm not fast at all, so it'll be a moderate pace at best.

I'm thinking CR will be a little wet in spots, so I am kinda pulling for LM...

I just moved to Basking Ridge in March, and have been looking to try out Chimney Rock. If I can get out of the office early enough, I'll bring my bike around 6pm.

    Where is Lewis Morris?

groovy - 6 is cool - Newman's Lane parking lot?

LM is right outside morristown/mendham. Its a smoother place - pretty fast tho, and some good hills. CR is great fun.

I haven't been there before, but I assume this is the parking lot?

Where ever it is, I'll spot it.

FYI, Chimney Rock is really wet. I was there last night. If there is any chance LM is dry, I would head up North.

almost there. thats the chimney rock inn and a quarry... but if you follow chimney rock road north from that point, turn left onto 620 in martinsville, and make a left onto newmans lane, there will be a parking lot on your left.

I did LM last week, and though the major rainstorm left things wet in spots still, it was not bad at all.

Doesn't look too far. Might not make it up there before 6:15 - 6:20pm, though. Which point do bikers start at?

Thanks for the good break-in ride. My co-worker just suggested I try "Patriots Tail" at Jockey Hollow, where I originally went yesterday.

Patriots Path is right at the parking lot where we parked - it is a good place to get the legs re-stretched.
