Why Celebrate National Trails Day? ... Firstly, trails are a great way to get people outdoors and increase activity. Trails allow for exploration, and recreation. Users can wander in tranquility while engaging in physical activity or meet up with friends for a social activity. And with many miles of trails, the U.S. is a prime spot for discovery.

If you have ever wondered who builds and maintains the trails, you may be surprised to know that the majority of our trails here in New Jersey are maintained and built by volunteers; Jorba, being the main organization that is dedicated to working on multi-use and mountain bike trails.

Jorba has already logged over 1300 volunteer crew hours to date in 2012. To view our volunteer list, go here:

Jorba would like to thank its many volunteers: from leadership roles and crew leaders to sponsors, staff, members and crew volunteers. Many hands come together to make the trail experience possible for us all. Thank You!

Jorba is looking for trail work volunteers especially in northern parks. If you are interested in helping out, work dates can be found on the Jorba Calendar:

Or by contacting a park rep directly:

I hope many of you are out enjoying the trails on this day!
