Looking for a ringwood guide on 7/22

    Hey there,

I'll be flying out of Oakland CA and visiting my folks in New City, NY for a week or so and will be bringing my Independent Fabrication single speed along for the trip. I was thinking of making the 45 min drive down to Ringwood on Sunday the 22nd of July. I've ridden out there once with a group and had a fantastic ride. When trying to find the same trails by myself though, I had a very frustrating and lack luster experience.

So...with that in mind, would any one be willing to lead me on a ride to of some of the best trails out there sometime on Sunday morning? Or, are there any organized group rides that happen on a weekly basis? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again, look forwards to some east coast riding - Dan.

hello dan. i'd be happy to lead a ride for you. i would suggest starting at the school and having wheels down at 8am. Not sure of the actual milage but i can put together a 4hr loop if your ok with that. if anyone else wants to jump in please do so.

Thanks! I willl definitely take you up on the offer, and 8 am shouldn't be a problem. Since I'm not from the area, could you give me directions to the school. I've only been to the area 2-3 times so I don't really know my way around to well.

Looking forwards to the ride! Dan.

Nothing better than a Phat loop, especially @ Ringwood. Good luck.

Dan, you are in for a treat. The phattour is sweet.

Nellie, I will try and make this ride. Saturday is complicated for me at the moment but I am trying to move the puzzle pieces around to make the ride. If so, 8am will not be problem!

You guys still riding Ringwood at 8am on Sunday? If so, I'm down. I don't know if I'll be able to hang for 4 hours, but I definitely put in a couple.

you missed a really boring ride.. 8 riders, half were riding single speeds, the other half were on geared dulies. 15 miles of mostly single track, technical decends, and challenging climbs.. we plan on doing more of these boring rides soon.

It was really boring I don't think I'll do one again. No mechanicals/flats/injuries and long waits etc. it was really boring.

Well, the Phat loop lived up to all my expectations. Never let it be said that NJ doesn't have it going on! After 4 hours of rooty, very rocky single track I found myself pretty damn tired and exhausted and equally content. Thanks again to Phat and crew and if anyone ever finds themselves out in Nor Cal please get in touch so that I could repay the favor.
