    Chimney Rock, Sunday 5/6

I'm planning on riding Chimney Rock on Sunday ("el seis de mayo") at 10-10:30. Any new updates on the conditions at "chimney slop"? I imagine the nice warm, dry week have conditions looking decent, at least.

    Wet

Was over there tonight & there is still a lot of wet spots/standing water. I think it needs a few more days to dry out but what do I know. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the heads up

Thanks Kirt. Guess I'll give somewhere else a try. Too bad none of the trails close to home dry out --- EVER.

Did anyone actually get a chance to ride there today? If so how were the trails?

    i rode it today

there was some mud. I rode the newman lane Washington valley parking side that was fine 2 o'clock. The chimney rock climb had a little mud. Very rideable today. The river crossings were muddy but what would you expected?

    Smile Try Lewis Morris Park

I wanted to go to Chimmney Rock on 5/5 but after hearing it was still wet I tried Lewis Morris Park near Morristown. Not very technical but worth checking out, good aerobic ride with climbs that are not too steep but are long. Its a place to try out different riding techniques when climbing(out of saddle/seated). I'd go back again.
Chimmney should be good next weekend provided we don't get rain this week.
