    Blue Mt. Fat Tire Fest.

Never been there so I'm curious what to expect?

Are there vendor demos, organized rides, etc.? Is there a fee?

I was a regular at Jim Thorpe Mountain Bike Weekend and went to the West Virginia Mountain Bike Festival years ago but Blue Mountain is new to me. I have the web connection that really does not tell me anything other then time, date and rain or shine.

    Thanks
    REV

Do you have a link for the festival?

Where is it located and when?

    Not off hand.

I did a google search for blue mountain fat tire festival but didn't keep the link. Aside from time and date it really didn't say much.

Time and date, by the way, is 10 - 4, Sunday, June 10.

It's a great mountain with a lot of variety for all different riders.....I've gotten there taking the NJTPK to the Palisades Parkway all the way to the end where you'll cross the Bear Mt. Bridge....Follow signs to Peekskill......Great times will be had.....For sure!!!!

I did and only got the website

Which, as I said, doesn't tell what actually goes on at the festival, only where and when. As for the park, I've ridden there. I'm just trying to find out what they consider a fat tire festival.

Are there vendors, demos, group rides, admission fees, etc., etc. That is what I'm looking for but have not found.

Here's the thread from last year's event from the New York forums:

Fat Tire Festival @ Blue Mtn. in Peekskill, NY

    Hope this helps.

So those of you who went to the Fat Tire how would you compare it to other gatherings? I've been to the festival twice and have had a good time but I have nothing to compare it to.

Doesn't compare to Jim Thorpe MBW

    However, JTMBW is no more.

JTMBW was three days, involved 1000 + riders, camping, more demo's (i.e factory demo's from Giant, Trek, Vicious Cycles, Specialized, Christiani, and others - it varied from year to year), the town of Jim Thorpe itself to hang around (my wife and I stayed at the Inn at Jim Thorpe for years), etc. JTMBW also had a fee around $35 that included a t-shirt and camping.

I think Blue Mountain was very good. It really had most of what JTMBW had but on a smaller scale. This was my first time but I will be back. I've been looking for something to fill the void left when JTMBW ended its twenty-year run. I know two people in our group of five took advantage of demo's and we did two multi-hour technical rides and wore ourselves out.

I also went to a much smaller West Virginia Mountain Bike Festival in 1998. I don't remember there being many more than 100 riders. It was also multi-day and included camping though my wife and I stayed at Snow Shoe Resort next door because we had a couple younger kids. That was just too far away from NJ to draw me back but it certainly was beautiful.
