Who's doing the Bearscat 50 at Wawayanda? I can't wait- hope it goes as well as last year. Less than 2 weeks!

Wet, muddy, rocky, rainy, but fun race and happy to make top 5. Hope they have this race again next year and that it's bone dry like last year. I'm a bit beat up today, but it's all good. Great day & thanks to Black Bear Cycling!

No. 50 miles at Wayway scares me. . I did the SSaP in April though. That was a ton of fun!!!

How rocky is this course relative to something like the Michaux races or Rattling Creek in PA? Though I might try it fr 2013 now that it's a MASS race and I was just wondering if running a rigid fork would be suicidal or not

Bscat 50 on a fully rigid bike will be tough, this is a super techy/rocky race on par with a Michaux race.

I 2nd that notion. I did not race this, but I know Wawayanda very well. I looked at that course for 2012 on Black Bear Cycle's website. You would be rattled to pieces doing 50 miles on a rigid on that course. And even with a course change for 2013, I can't imagine that there is a 50 mile course that wouldn't be tough on a rigid at Wawa.

i rock rigid in last two races.and i love it.me and my friend both were on rigid.
you just have to know how to ride on rock with rigid just as you would with suspension.
well,.that's just me tho don't mean to being tough or anything.
and at the end i did not rattle into pieces
so this year would be the same i'll be rocking rigid again!
and goodluck to you,sir!
i'm a full time bikeacholic also an workaholic and part time alcoholic.
