    Where did you ride?

So this weekend I had a friend from SoCal come out, and he is like a virtual trail atlas . . . the man knows good trail in practically every state, and the Vegas area is some of his most favorite dirt. So of course he took me for a tour. I'm not going to know the details of everything we did, but it was an awesome ride. I know that we started in Blue Diamond and headed out to the Deadhorse loop, rode something called Satan's Escalator (appropriately named), hit "The Lookout" and dropped down the 3-mile-smile (also appropriately named). The only thing I had to offer was showing him Little Viagra on the way back to BD from Late Night lot. All in all, 28 miles and about 2700' of climbing. Good fun was had.

    Where'd you ride this weekend?
Alcohol may lead nowhere, but it sure is the scenic route!

On Saturday, one run down Cowboy Wash/Blue Ribbon and multiple laps down Tin Can...snow in places, epic tacky dirt in most others. Amazing ride. Today, Cowboy Trails, wound our way up to the overlook and then down Cat In The Hat and Rock Garden.

Pretty decent weekend, had tons of fun with some friends.

Sorry, I was just messing with 007. He moved to NV from So Cal, so i was messing with him by posting So Cal riding locations in reply to his thread.

S.A.R.T. is the Santa Ana River Trail in the San Bernardino Mountains.

Spotty snow in shaded areas from top of trails down to where the elevation flattens out. It actually made Tin Can a ton of fun...a little sliding through the turns but the soil was moist and bomber underneath. Buddies from southern Cal were giggling their way down...always a good sign that people are having a blast. Should be rideable until the next precip up there...I'd recommend getting up before that happens!

I'd love to go, but my wheels are busted . . . going to be down and out on riding for at least a week. I'll send you a PM when I'm up and running again.

Rode up lake to the middle basin then fished up to Echo and Overton. After finishing 4th in the tournament I hopped in the car with my son and drove straight to Pittsburgh, PA. He moved for a job and I helped him set up the apartment and all that jazz. Jumped on a plane this afternoon and back in Vegas tonight!

Susanville, about 100 miles north of Reno on 395.
Sunday, checked out the new Southside Trail (south side of the Susan River) with the last of the fall leaves, rode the Bizz Johnson rail trail from the end of the new ST up to Westwood for pizza, backtracked to the little campground at Goumaz. I had a white surprise waiting outside my tent Mon morning! But it was only a few miles of easy downhill rolling back to my truck, so the scenery was worth a little discomfort. Any Reno/Carson riders looking for a nice day ride or family hike owe it to yourselves to go check out the Bizz and the new Southside Trail.
