Cool Towns Within 3 Hours of Vegas

    Hi Guys,

My wife and I are headed to Vegas for a couple of days at the beginning of July. We would like to rent a car and go somewhere else for 2 or 3 more days. We would like the town to be around a 3 hour drive one way. It doesn't have to have great mountain biking because i won't have my bike. Just somewhere where we can go and relax have a few beers and do a little bit of sight seeing. I know Bear mountain in Cali is like 3 and half hours away. Anywhere else we should look into.

    Thanks!

Zion National Park in Utah would be worth a trip. I would get a room in Springdale, just outside the park. The town is a bit touristy, but has some good restaurants and shops. There isn't much to do in any of the other towns in southwest Utah, unless you rent a bike and hit some of the trails near Hurricane or St George, which I would also recommend.

Do a Google Image search for "Angels Landing" to see one of the best hikes in Zion.

Those are all fun places. I second Sedona. It's so beautiful down there and It is geared for outdoor activities. Great food too. Why you could even rent some bikes to ride while in Sedona. Just sayin.

Sedona is great, but it's more than three hours away..... and it's kinda like Zion-light but with a bunch of gift shops selling crystals and Vortex maps. If you want impressive redrock cliffs in a beautiful, pristine area, Zion is the call.....especially if you're not taking you bike.

Having said that, it would be a shame to miss the awesome riding in either of those places. Come back with the bike sometime. You won't regret it. LV has some pretty good riding too.
