    Ash Canyon Saturday

Its been a while since I have been in the forum and on a bike as I have been slammed with work and sick for the past three weeks with something vicious.
I figured I'd sneak out Saturday in search of some hero dirt from our thunderstorms up here and spin the legs out a bit. I ended up going down to GregNash's neck of the woods in Ash Canyon and I am impressed with the work done on the trails since I last road there (about 13 months ago). The creek trail is a BLAST and the flow on Return to Sender was perfect.
Going to be heading down there more often for sure.

Haha, I'm a little anal about my equipment. Grew up racing motocross and used to take the bike completely down 2 times per week and polish every bolt I could. Luckily a mtb is a lot easier to take down!

Nice! Yeah, I bet the conditions were killer. I got sprinkled on through Jacks Valley Friday afternoon and woke up Sat to dampness from overnight rain near Woodfords. It doesn`t make up for that lousy excuse of a winter, but it sure perks things up for a week or so!

No doubt Rodar! Did you go for another multi-day ride?

Yeah, a dandy one-nighter. But it was a little lacking in the dirt department

Looks like it was a great ride! I recognize the first pic as Jacks Valley, but where were the other three taken?

The switchbacks up to the Emerald Bay overlook, Cascade Lake, and outside of Loyalton. It was a long ride- I don`t know it it was just a fluke letting me keep going so far, or if I broke through some kind of mental barrier. A few more long climby rides this year will answer that. How much vertical in DR, mag? Seems to me about 15k.

Yep, 15k is right. The tough part is that it is either up or down. Very little flat in between, so training appropriately is huge.
