    Another New Vegas Rider

Hello all names Brent I've been in Vegas for almost 3 years now. Just recently picked up biking. Picked up a Diamontback Responce XE from *****(I know shitty). Not sure what type of rider I am yet only "actual" trail I've done was the Glendora MTN downhill in cali(first trail on a bike since 03 not a good idea). During the ride my friends bike broke which then made him faceplant and get K.Oed for a few min and eventually airlifted to the Hospital.

So i've slowed my role and decided to learn more about biking in general before I put myself in that situation again. I know from dealing with my car the best info is always on forums. I'm here to learn and hopefully ride/meet some of you all on some trails soon.

Hi Brent, welcome to Vegas, imo, riding is usually the best way to figure out what you want. Just run what ya brung until it needs replacing, by that time you'll know which way you want to go in regards to upgrading parts or new bike
As far as trails go out here, I would probably recommend starting out on the cottonwood trails and progress from there...

    x2 Imafred comments
I rode an old gt Zaskar that only had 3 working gears and was too big for me for 2 seasons.
I then learned I was ready to upgrade and return to the hobby.
    Best of luck

Thanks alot for the info hopefully I can hit up cottonwood friday. Is there any Facebook groups for NV riders that I could join? I would like to help with trail building if any groups do that out here.

There is a good Sunday ride hosted by Vegas Bike Store that is fit for all skill levels. Mostly road bikes though, not sure what kind of equipment you are rocking. Welcome!
