Don't quote me but I'm pretty sure it was done back in Robert's days. The docs I have here on it certainly look like they were from back then.

Yes, the Tremor was done before the Kinesis period, when Kinesis took over, the Tremor was dumped out of the lineup, probably in favor of the DNA.

I think Tim Parker had said something in the past about the Tremor weighing a ton.
"I thought of that while riding my bike."

When i had the chance to talk to Robert some time ago. I asked about the Tremor and he was involved in designing it.
    These are pics of mine.
It weighs 8lbs for the frame and headset.

Some Tremor frames were made at Kenesis in Portland. They had very strange sizing and came in a large and a medium size that each were made from the same parts, but were welded differently. One had a short top tube and taller seat tube, the other had a longer top tube and shorter seat tube. I still don't remember which one was supposed to be medium and which was the large. Pretty weird styling with the girder-like industrial swingarm and the monocoque shell swoopy, seahorse looking front end.

The last batch that were made had the front derailer cable tab welded at the wrong location and the production pretty much halted at that point.

I think I heard this was intended as a "price-point" alternative to the more expensize San Andreas and was intended to be mass produced overseas.

I think the shorter top tube was the large size. Your right the sizing was strange, and I couldn't figure out, at the time, why they would do that. Except I could see, now, how it could be done, just weld the seat assembly up higher on the main frame for the large size. That would make it cheaper to produce.
