Great article!!! I can't wait to see part 2.

I can still remember seeing those ad's back in the late 80's early 90's.
I have wanted one ever since.
Back then I couldn't afford one, Now I can't find one

    Good article G..

The only thing I would like to add, is that the SA Classic was so well designed in the first place, that even the last incarnation which was the 06 models like mine, are still superior in many ways to some of the latest bikes, even with the admitted outdated design issues.
I've ridden bikes as new as an 04 Jamis that was a total PITA.
It does need a redesign though, so it can be a top ranking model again.

In the mean time, mine is good enough that I don't feel the need to spend big bucks on a new frame. I also love the conversation it can strike up at things like Interbike.
Someone just said today, "That's a blast from the past!" with a very big smile.
Others said things like "Wow, wasn't that the bike that used to be on all the magazine covers?"
While there are occasional bike snobs that make a rude comment, most simply have fond memories to report and remember what the San An represents.

I stumbled across your comments about "Push" in AU. I know how you feel.

    Later Eric.

G, I didn't realise your bike was actually two bikes combined. I thought it was just a repaired swingarm on it.

I think with frames though, newer doesn't necessarily mean better. While there is some great new stuff out there, there is also a lot of garbage that is being marketed very well.

    I think it did.
I wonder how many years it took, to get the first San An onto the market.

    Not exactly an article

April edition of MB Action, "revisiting" their 10 year anniversary of the San Andreas back page write up. Still ride and love my 2003 Classic, but made me wonder if there's any word on the San Andreas 2 yet? Very much looking forward to seeing the new SA (if there's going to be one).

    Word is........

It's happening. Final design is signed off and it's going into production engineering and testing over the next few months along with the Zen II.

A friend of mine had one sitting in a storage bay. He bought it at a pawn shop a number of years ago and never used it. I took it off his hands for a crisp C-note.

I haven't determined what model year it is yet, but I'm guessing it's an early one seeing as someone threw an Answer Manitou 1 on it.

That would be one of the very first ones! Maybe a 2003?

Keep that nice, it's a true collector's item - especially in such good nic.
