Mountain Cycle Appears to be Out of Business

Mountain Cycle appears to have gone under. There is no email, phone or any way to contact them...

If they aren't out of business, they'd better get their collective asses in gear and do something quick!

The web site says, "under construction" and they did post new management in the other thread, so don't count them out yet. If they are going to make some big changes, it might be a while before we hear anything.

They've been talking about big changes for 5 years already. I know this because I bought the San An and owned it for almost exactly 3 years and the Fury that replaced it is 2 years old this month.
So, they've been reorganizing for 5 long years.

    They've had long enough.
What are they going to do? Redesign the bikes?
    That would take how long?
    Again...
After this crap, there will be even fewer people that will buy an MC product, because they don't think MC will be around to support said product.
MC was already having trouble with that opinion for several years now and then a new shakeup comes along.
I know from talking to people around our local trails, that they won't go near MC because they think there is a major problem, that it's been taking too long to get things going again.
They say MC hasn't had anything to test ride at Interbike in at least two years.
They say the promises have been coming for years, that something was just around the corner.
    They would be right.

The management got canned for all those reasons that you stated. Yeah, it sucks for those of us who love everything MC. I'm just thankful that I was around for the glory days of MC. I wouldn't count them out yet. Wasn't it the New Orleans Saints that won the Superbowl after being a last place team? It's not to late to make a come back, but it may take a while.

I reckon hey should just get the original designer of the San An to redesign it in keeping with the original because the original is THE NUTS. I have 4 different bikes and the Sannie is still my go to bike. Single pivot, it's just fun. Don't want to see the Mountaincycle community website go though, wealth of info there too...

Robert Reisinger doesn't do design like that anymore.
He's into some kind of contracting I believe.

The grapevine says that there were problems not with MC staff, but with parent company Ideation in Taiwan.
Changes that needed to be made, like eliminating contact between shock and swing link on the new bikes, was allegedly scoffed at by Ideation management.

The inside opinion, is that MC will no longer be a quality brand. That the upper management seems to think "it's good enough".

This all sounds kinda like what Pacific Bicycles did to GT etc.

My biggest fear is that some one is going to buy the name and slap it on cheap Walmart or Target type bikes.

Sounds like he has been running it for awhile. Sorry about the MC thing, they were the most awesome company going for many years, heck decades. So innovative and creative. They had the first real disc brakes, one of the first upside down forks and a of course the monocoque. Bummer the Chumba gang is going to screw with them. You would think the parent company would do some research about who was running their business before selecting an unproven entity to run something but they probably were cheap...and the dollar always rules. Churn and burn where these guys are concerned.

It might be an exit strategy, let the guy whom is known for running a company into the ground finish off another one.

You could try, but we've already been ripping them a new one on Facebook.
I don't trust them anymore after all the delays and shakeups during the last 5+ years and I'm not the only MC fan that now feels that way.
Even if the name Mountain Cycle survives, the company we knew from the past is truly dead now.

Another MC group here as well.

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/296660760405714/

So there is plenty of MC discussion going on, just no official info from the company (not that there appears to be one).
