Trying to figure out how to measure the top tube effective length on a Mountain Cycle Sin. Any ideas?

I'm right at 6' even and had a medium back a few years ago. I rode it strictly as a bike park/tight singletrack freeride type bike and it always felt small-n-tall to me. I think MC measured the top tube as an effective measurement (ie, center of steerer tube to center of seatpost where a normal saddle height position would be for most people in that frame size), not as an actual top tube length (ie, center of steerer tube to center of seat tube).

My small Sin Measures (physical measurement) 18.5" from the center of the seat tube to the center of the head tube. And the seat tube measures (center of BB to top of the seat tube) 18 1/4" The effective is based on the top of the head tube level to where the seat post would be (if thats clear?).
