... and if we just ... Elbry Sandland Taking a Flying Leap.

I found this pic of Elbry flying through the air, on cosponsor Kore's Facebook page.

Full face seems overkill for a jump that size.

Oh, duh me. For some stupid reason, I thought there would be more jumps, roots, rocks, trees, other hazards, etc. I didn't know he was just doing one little jump and never ridding a bike at a high rate of speed again. I guess, I should have known better.

    Your sarcasm is duely noted.

Most of our general XC trails have features and sections like that and I wouldn't contemplate a full face for that type of riding.

Granted when the DH bike gets pulled out so does the full face but for general trail and all mountain riding (which the picture looks to me) a full face would be a nightmare to deal with.

Sammy's right. A full face isn't practical for XC. You get too hot inside.
I'm not sure it's really a jump either, it may be a huge bunny hop from the looks of the photo.
I've seen pros do some really super human things on a XC trail.

In any case, it's one of the best pics of Elbry I've seen to date.
The colors and sharpness are really nice.

I should add, our XC riding in the Las Vegas Nevada area is more rugged than that, but we don't wear full face.
We'd die of heat stroke half the year of we did that.
