    Fantom DS Pro 09

Frame works great with Monarch 3.3. I can viturally eliminate bobbing with the Monarch and Reba Race. You can also dial in very plush travel or very taunt travel. 3 - 4 - 5 inches of travel - very versatile. I still learning how to set up this bike for different conditions but I'm loving the components and the ride.

wow there's alot of nice Moto's on this thread!

    This my '08 Fantom 29er
e13 Bash guard and Peaty Sig grips (makes the bike so much faster! ) are all I've had to do to it. Alot of fun and envy from my buds w/ their heavy Specialized rigs.

I'm really going to miss this bike, but all good things must come to an end. This is my current and first mountain bike (coming from the roadbike world) Motobecane 400HT.

and here's my girlfriend's Motobecane Jubilee Trail. She only leisure rides, and we custom painted it pink to match her engine bay in her custom car...

When I get my new Motobecane, all the carbon and accessories will transfer directly to it. Since I don't like the color it comes in, it'll be color matched to match our cars too. Farewell to my 400HT!

    p.s.

    and the kickstand,
    barend mirrors, and

I'm diggin' it too! I can't stand the color of my new Fantom 29 PRO SL so I Just took it apart to have it painted my favorite color. Don't let the color stop you from getting what you want! I couldn''t stand the Delorean Brushed Silver so I made it work for me to have the components it came with.

That photo was taken the day I completed the build. A lot of rain around here lately and I don't ride in the slop. I'll be sure to post up after my first ride. I don't have great expectations for the Monarch 4.2 since it doesnt have a lock out although it does have compression adjustment. Won't know for sure 'til I can hit the trails.

Thanks. To answer your question, those are not the stock panaracers. Thy are the 2.4 Fire DH's. About the only thing that was red on this bike when I got it was the FantomPro lettering.

Looks like a dirty heap of poo right now. I'll try and get some of those photos up

Nice, that would explain why they look so fat. Did you go to 2.4s for the mud, snow, downhilling, or what?

For downhill. I've seen too many 2.1s exploded in front of me...went with these and they've gone strong for several months now while taking a pretty good beating.

I would like your Moto hardtail. I think it would be just about the perfect mate to go next to my full suspension. I would want to get another adjustable seat post but after that I would have two super sweet rides

forgot to mention it, it´s the medium size frame. I did not remove the "chainstay protector" (now replaced with a lizard skin). Total bike weight is 26 lbs and 4 oz. but with continental mountain king 2.2 kevlar tires, with the ones pictured, it was 26 lb flat.

For you single pivot riders, I've added a few things since my last post. Changed out the velociraptors for IRC Trail Bears 2.24. Swapped in a Sram PG-970 11-34 cassette. Changed the stock bar grips with some Forte Countour grips. Stem extender, I'm over 6'5". No negative issues to report in 12 months of riding in the Santa Cruz Mountains following my shock/fork upsize mod.

Well I recently bought a 2010 Fly team. With some Notubes Podium MMX wheels, CB 4ti eggbeaters, Gripshifters, different saddle and tires my bike weighed 19 lbs 11oz. Not too shabby. I'll post pics soon.

Hi. Your Fly Team looks a lot like my Pro, except for the crank area. That crankset look sick, enjoy...

I think you should lower the banjo in the rear caliper so the cable can be routed through the last retainer in the frame.

Screw this weather, I am going for a ride.

The weather made it miserable for SS riding, so I grabbed the trusty Moto and she performed great! Such a comfy ride even under freezing, miserable conditions.

I built this from the frame up with new and used parts.

i got a question, some of the motos on the bikesdirect website say they come with SIDs 'factory upgraded to 100mm' has anyone noticed if this changes the way the bike handles? are they supposed to come with the 80mm version?

    thanks!

Finally got to ride the Fantom build after a winter of rain and record breaking snow in the Mid-Atlantic. Bike performed great - I didn't after nearly 4 months of not riding! Ride is super plush. Climbs pretty good for 5" travel. Although it's 2lbs heavier than my Fuji Outland RC build, I think I prefer riding the Fantom.
