Fantom Pro Ti 26 vs Fantom 29 Pro SL for XC Racing

Hey everyone, I'm going to get more into cross country racing this year and plan on doing a few races locally then start collegiate racing in the fall.
I'm looking for a bike that is going to be a good starter and then a year from now or so I plan to upgrade. The Pro Ti is a better bike as far as components and frame go, but I cant decide if I'd be better off going with the 29er. The 29 Ti is out of the question because my max is $1500.
So what do you guys think the pro ti or the 29 pro sl for racing?

Ti Pro is the way too go... You will be saving around six pounds out the gate.

The Fantom Pro Ti is the definite winner. Not really a competition with the SID Race fork, Vuelta XRP wheelset and Ti frame.

No complaints about my Fantom Pro Ti 26" quick, light, climbs to ride!
Looking at the cake is like looking at the future, until you have tasted it what do you really know? and then its too late.
