    2016 Fantom29 PRO SL / Fantom 29 Ti / Airborne Goblin XO

    Hi All,

For my first XC hardtail (switching from riding a road bike), I am thinking about getting the Fantom29 PRO SL:

Save up to 60% off new Mountain Bikes - MTB - Motobecane Fantom 29Elite

another option is the Airborne Goblin XO:
    Airborne Bicycles . Goblin XO

    and the Fantom Ti:
SRAM X9, 3x10 Speed 29er Titanium Front Suspension Mountain Bikes - MTB - 2015 Motobecane Fantom Titanium 29er | SRAM X9 hardtail mountain bikes | Save up to 60% off list prices on new bicycles

Can anyone shed light on the relative advantages/disadvantages of these bikes ? Is the Titanium frame on the FantomTi worth it inspite of the lower end components compare to FantomProSL?

I am not too limited in how much I can spend (within reason of course), but I also don't want to pay for stuff I won't be able to appreciate.

    Thanks !

I would say the x9 components will be adequate for you. The premium for XTR and X0 not worth it yet in my opinion, hasn't come down in price enough even with newer stuff out there. That being said, the ProSL seems a great deal.

Do you know the weight differences? If the Ti is noticeably lighter, and you like the idea, I'd go that route personally.
