Here's a NOOB question: My brother in-law pointed to his two recommendations for the money, which include:
2014 Motobecane Elite Adventure - $420
2014 Motobecane Elite Adventure X5 - $500
I haven't been riding a bike for over 15-years, and now that my two boys (3 and 5) are old enough to ride on their own, I figured it would be a good time to invest in a bike that will last for another 10-15 years.
I'm not sure if spending the additional $80 is worth it to go from:
Front Derailleur SHIMANO ALIVIO FDM430 Rear Derailleur SHIMANO DEORE RDM591SGSL Shifters SHIMANO ALIVIO SLM430 27-SP (27 gears total) Brakes TEKTRO NOVELA DISC BRAKE FR/RR 160mm Rotors Brake Levers Tektro Aluminum Black Polish Finish
Front Derailleur SRAM FD-X5-HC-A1 TOP PULL Rear Derailleur SRAM RD-X5-A1 BLACK CAGE Shifters SRAM X5 TRIGGER 27-SP (27 gears total) Brakes TEKTRO DRACO Hydraulic DISC FR/RR 160mm Rotors Brake Levers Tektro DRACO Hydraulic Aluminum Black Polish Finish
Can anyone recommend making the jump to the X5 bike? Or perhaps suggest something else? My riding will be mostly on roads and some light trails, nothing heavy duty.
Any feedback is appreciated.
