    Mooto X monstercross?

I am strongly considering converting my Mooto X to a drop bar , sort of monstercross bike.
I think this style would make it the most useful as part of my bike collection, and I would ride it more, which is the idea
Anyone done this? Pics, feedback, etc??
    thanks

If the bike fits you with a flat bar, wouldn't a drop bar have you way too stretched out? Top tubes are shorter on drop bar frames.

I would be changing the stem. Also, when youre riding in the drops you should be more stretched out compared to a normal mtb flat bar position.

In the drops, yes. On the hoods, no.

Advice? I suggest you compare your frame's top tube length to that of a CX bike in your size, then see if you can find a stem short enough to set up your frame with similar geometry using drop bars. You may find that your top tube is too long, as others mentioned.

I tried two prior MTB to Monstercross conversions and the geometry didn't quite work for me, but I was persistent. I eventually got this frame because the top tube length was the same as an Ibis Hakkalugi Disc CX bike in my size (large).

This bike flies on fire roads and keeps up with my buddies on full-suspension MTBs on the rough stuff. The only scary part is high-speed turns, where the skinny 40C tires tend to wash out compared to the 2.35 tires I run on my MTB.
