    time to get back in the saddle

    now that the car is broken down and after 2 months and "x" amount of $$ chasing eff'ing ghosts it's under the car cover for a while.....i took the old homegrown that's too small for me out for a ride around the neighborhood... about 3 miles or so, not riding for 8 years really takes a toll. muslces that once dominated now deflated... i could barely pull a bunny hop out of my butt ... although it hurt and it was all on flat land with no hills, it's time to get my ass back out and get my life back on track...

    Indeed, and the older you get, the faster it goes away. Wait until you're old like me! Can't wait to see what the winter layoff has done to my fitness this year. Argh.

    busted out another 5miles today after work.. chowing down on some subway finishing up with a Tasty Adult Beverage(T.A.B.) of SamAdams Irish Red....yum yum....

    today a work buddy took me out for some XC riding... only shat! i about died... freaking asthma kicked in really bad on an easy'ish uphill. i got maybe 500feet into the climb when i stopped before anything bad happened. last time i felt like that was in late 1990's at norba nationals in MT.Snow, VT when i tried my first ever XC race. i remember getting 1 mile in to a 7 mile loop and 5miles of it was uphill before coughing up blood... that's about the time i realized taking the chairlift up and downhill was my calling. here i sit about 3hours since the ride and it still hurts to breath....

    i love chairlifts .. but baby training steps to build endurance, i wonder if that will help for uphill xc...?
