That's a pretty small frame. If it fits you, then yes, good deal.
It's a 2000 Homegrown. You'll get different opinions on where it was built, but it appears 00-01 Homgrowns were made by Anodizing Inc, in Portland.

    ah yes-

It's actually going to be a gift for my mother to try to get her back into riding more.

she is about 5'5" and I plan on throwing on some low-reach drop bars and a medium length stem. I already have an "xt" rim-brake wheelset sitting here with sram 970 cassette and ritchey tom slicks, tiagra STIs, ritchey brakes, women's bg specialized saddle (don't remember which one) and older look road pedals.

it will be my $300ish solution to her wanting a $1500+ cyclocross bike

plus it will keep the frame nice in case her or my sister ever decide to take it back to xc only type use.

hope it doesn't bother anyone that I'm going to defile it as such-

Oh man so your the one that outbid me.

    They are great bikes.
My Kona hardtail was stolen and I was going to replace it with an old school Schwinn if I can find one.
The Homegrowns are great XC type bikes.
If your mom doesn't like it, I'll buy it from you. I'm 5'2 so the small is perfect for me.

$290 shipped seemed like a great deal to me- I had actually bid almost $350 plus the shipping.

I do know where there are a couple other similar bikes- but the owners are asking a bit more and they've been "updated". I'm actually fairly happy this one is close to stock etc..

she seemed excited about it tonight when I told her about it etc.

she may be buying a carbon fork for it- lol

ignore the duct tape holding the bar tape on, that saddle, the lack of pedals and brakes and here it is-

That's cool! I like the idea of turning a Homegrown frame into a semi-road bike.
