    Straight 6 rear brake

Other than Hayes, is there any other brake that will fit this bike? (Rear brake). Thanks John

Look into A2Z adapters, 22mm - 54mm I.S. This adapter will allow you to use modern disc brakes set up for 185mm rotors. I have used this adapter and it works fine. -- Joe

Thanks Joe. I think I may have to make a custom mount. I am going to using Hope Mono 6 calipers front and rear. Don't no if I can even get it to clear the rear linkage. Thanks again. Later John

just some food for thought, I'm running a direct mount rear caliper on my Homegrown with the Stroker Trial master cylinder.

Yeah, if you have an early Straight 6 with the pull shock you will have clearance issues. The brake mounts onto that isolator link connected to the chainstay, right? The newer rear dropout style on the "Gen 2" mounts the brake on the top of the rear dropout. That stroker conversion looks like a good idea.

Does anyone have a picture of a rear brake mounted to an early pull shock six. The bike pictured above (red bike) uses the new style 22mm caliper, it does not work on my bike. A little help please. Thanks John

Slow86gn, can you post a picture of the what you have? I have seen the early S6s but it would help to see your set up.

In all 3 pictures the newer Straight 6 brake arm is on top. Everything about it is different. It uses the 22MM caliper everybody was talking about. The early model did not.

Ah... You got me. I have not seen this before. Very intersting though. Looks like a custom project to me.
