I also built a 95 Barracuda for my wife, but there is really no place to post it...so I'll add it here.

Here is my rocket. My dad bought it new in 2001 on clearance. After several years of neglect he let me have it.
I have a new 100mm Rock Shox recon gold fork and a fulcrum red metal 5 wheelset to put on it but it will have to wait until finals are over. I will upload a new picture with all the new gear on it.

also the seat post is bent(new one is ordered) and the stem is ridiculous(will replace soon) other than that its the best bike i have ever owned and i love it. Even if it is 12 years old.

I really think you've done a great job in making your Rocket a nice bike. I'd love to see how it rides.

What kind of helmet is that?

The helmet is a Lazer Oasiz Lopes edition, just picked it up that was my first ride with it. Really liking it just have to get used to the magnetic chin strap buckle.

The bike rides great similar to my Mongoose Teocali, but geometry is little more XC than the Teocali so there is an adjustment period when switching from bike to bike.

It's been abt 18 months since my last Schwinn build. My 15 yo son outgrew his old 16" GT, so I bought this 19" Homegrown Factory USA frame and built a 25 lb. hardtail with most of the bits from the GT. I think it's a 96 or 97. No serial number, but the "F" and "Y" in "Factory" are still there, as is the tomato with "USA" in it.

It sports a Reba RL 100mm fork, XT & XTR derailleurs, XT shifting, Easton carbon bar and an LX crankset. Hayes Mag brake in front with an Avid 1.0 v-brake in back. Mullet style.

Wheels for now are Speedisc rims/laserdisc lite hubs in front and WTB dual duty in back. I'll be tempted to ride it now and then, as my current regular ride is a FS stumpjumper.

He's starting to show genuine interest in ridig trail, so he might as well have the tool to do it.

I built this for my wife using a 2001 Moab 3, export edition frame and mostly nos components.

Seeing this in my garage always makes me smile. Yes, I know it's a mess, but the important stuff is accessible.

This was my first "real" mountain bike. I want to say it's a 1999 Schwinn Moab 2. I am not 100% on the year. Took this picture today, after a cleaning. I still love the geometry of this bike. She is my loaner/beater bike now.

100mm Marzocchi Z4 Flylight Air Bombers

Handbuilt WTB Dual Duty Freeride Rims w/ Woodman Hubs

    Azonic Seat Post
    WTB Saddle
    Canecreek S-5 headset.
    Avid Single Digit V-Brakes

That was my first new bike as well. It's a 98 Moab 2 Aluminum. I went to every Schwinn store in my area looking for a blue one. Yours looks great. Other than the seatpost, here's how mine looks today:

Awesome thanks for the update on the year. Hard to believe I have been mountain biking since 97'. Wish I hadn't bought the Walgoose. It cost less than my medical bills, after the first fall.

It was/is a great bike. I only stopped riding it because I wanted full suspension. I rode the crap out of it for 1.5 years and then decided to get my Homegrown Carbon Sweetspot frameset. I rationalized it by saying it was good for my back since I had surgery on it. Ha.

Here's my junk. '99 Mesa GS w/ Rock Shox Tora 302 Coil U-turn fork (80-130mm), shift/brake pods, Vuelta wheels, WTB Prowler rubber, WTB Laser V saddle (favorite piece on the bike) and Nashbar Verge platforms. It takes me where I need to go.

To find this headset is like te quest of the grail...
As a result, I have a frame which serves as decoration

    Otherwise, nice Christmas tree ^^

    And happy new year
Have you been lucky to find the ICBM yet?

Same here. I have a NOS Moab 3 frame as mural decoration for years now (maybe someone can help me about the year of production, see picture below). Couldnīt find the appropriate aheadset to build it up. Some shops got it listed, none had it available.

But another year has passed, and this christmas I got it from Taiwan. You can find it on ebay. Newly manufactured by Tange Seiki for Cane Creek, reasonably priced, and transaction was perfect including registered mail.

You can buy it directly from Cane Creek. Just give them a call.
