    How to tell if it's a genuine Schwinn?

    Hi! I'm new here!
    I wish to buy a used Schwinn bicycle, but I don't want to buy a fake, replica, etc.
    The bike is located here: http://www.mercadolibre.com.ar/jm/it...LA&id=44877542
    I have the chance of seeing the bike before buying it. So I thought that there have to exist some things that I should take care of to verify that the frame is an original one.
    Is this alright?

    That looks like a 2001 model. Before the buyout.

    It's genuine. The question is if it's a model from before they became a cheap brand or after. I tend to think the latter because of the rear brake mount being the 51mm IS vs the 22mm Hayes mount I remember them using on the chainstay.

    Well, I've already bought it and I have no doubts that it's genuine.

    It's a killer!

    It is in mint condition, but the equipment is entirely not original. It has every sticker on it and not even a single scratch. I payed more or less U$S 340 for it and I'm very pleased.

    But now, can I search for something on the bike to know if it was made before or after the buyout?
