    Alternate Shocks for Mongoose Khyber?

Has anyone tried to fit a coil shock on one of these? if so which one? how did it work out?

    ok,

has anyone put any other shock air/coil/elastomer and had good luck with it

The rocco has blown up twice in the past year and spent as much time out for repair as it has on the bike.

There wasn't a need for an apostrophe in his post. Don't be an erroneous correcter.

I was pretty aware of the company line, no coils fit, but I also know can't is just the start of the negotiations. I may try the rock shox

I have an xfusion 02RL dual chamber rear shock, very nice. Mongoose says the design is best with an air shock, not that one cannot be used... However I cam see how there would be issues fitting larger coil shocks, especially coil shocks with piggyback reseviors. Anyway, I agree with mongoose, no reason to use a coil shock. However they also informed me that a standard Isis type bottom bracket would not work on the bike. The customer service email and phone staff know less about bikes than most people on these forums. I just got my khyber, bought it frame and rear shock only, and built it up. I can't wait for spring so I cam get some nice rides in. Right now it's sporadic at best due to mud mud mud...
